SteezBomb SkateBoarding is delighted to be the first UK supplier to offer the Powell Peralta Flight Deck, which is so much more stronger, thinner and lighter than a traditional 7-ply skateboard deck.

The Flight Deck is built for skaters who want a thinner and stronger deck with greater pop that won’t break during ‘hard landings’ and for skaters who have outgrown the performance of the venerable 7-ply maple skateboard deck. Compared with a 7-ply deck it is:

- 200% stronger - in Powell Peralta’s tail break tests more than twice as strong.
- 25% thinner - as thin as your phone if you have a modern mobile / cell phone.
- 10% lighter - lighter than a similar sized 7-ply.
- 10% higher round - for better pop that lasts 10 times longer.

Within a couple of hours, you’ll soon get the feel of it and begin to realise that you can do things riding a Flight Deck that simply cannot be done on a 7-ply. The Flight Deck will allow you to push beyond your limits e.g. ollie higher because of greater rebound and snap, flip faster and do tricks more easily because it won’t break in two like a 7-ply.

It lasts longer too due to the epoxy infused fibre-reinforced structure, which is extremely  resistant to breaking. It’s this very special structure that gives the Flight Deck an ‘everlasting pop’ that does not fade as your deck slowly wears. Team testing suggests that the Flight Deck will last way longer than a 7-ply, making it great value for money as well as a superior performing skateboard.

The classic 7-ply is truly awesome but many of today’s skaters go far beyond its ultimate strength as they jump huge stairs and drops. Skaters tend to avoid breaking their decks by landing over their trucks but this doesn’t always happen. They break their decks and sometimes themselves. In addition, big landings over-stress the maple veneer fibres and the board loses its pop sooner, even if it doesn’t break completely.

Powell Peralta decks are made in the USA in a new production area at their skateboard manufacturing facility in Santa Barbara, California. Materials include US hard rock maple, high strength fibreglass and AirLam fused with epoxy resin, Skateboard decks are warranted against delamination for their useful life.  The graphics are created in-house using non-solvent based inks and paints to keep the atmosphere cleaner.
